Triton Square

Triton Square is the wide open space just outside of the Valletta City Gate, connecting Valletta to Floriana. It has traditionally been a meeting place for those visiting Valletta, having been previously the site of the Valletta Bus Terminus.

The Triton Fountain is the centrepiece of the square, which sits on the site formerly occupied by additional Valletta land-front fortifications. The general shape of the free standing bastions which occupied the site has been preserved in the paving of the square, and can be clearly seen when viewed top down.
